Welcome Aboard!

Crossing the Finish Line is celebrating ten years of creating immeasurable joy for our sailors and their families! Crossing the Finish Line helps adult cancer patients, their caregivers and their families cope with the unyielding physical and emotional demands of cancer by providing a one week, expense paid respite excursion in a peaceful, secure environment. We aim to strengthen the hearts, minds and souls of these courageous individuals as they battle the psychological, emotional, economic and spiritual trauma that accompanies an unexpected diagnosis. Our cancer patients are our "Sailors" and their respite are "excursions." To be considered for an excursion, a Sailor must:

  • Have a physician diagnosis of cancer
  • Be between the ages of 24-50
  • Reside in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware

Run 10 miles and Cross the Finish Line for CFL's Sailors and their loved ones!

SICBP

In September of 1999, Sea Isle City Beach patrol said goodbye to former lifeguard (and CFL founder) Peter R. Bossow, Jr. after he lost his battle with testicular cancer. Sea Isle City is a favorite respite location for our Sailors and their loved ones and we are happy to use this quaint shore town as a respite get-a-way throughout the year. We are proud to announce the SIC lifeguards and CFL are teaming up to support more families visiting this destination with an initiative in the 2009 Captain Bill Gallagher 10 Mile Run.

Runners and teams can now raise money to support families with cancer by creating a custom webpage and encouraging sponsorship donations!

Inspired by Pete's valiant battle, the beach patrol encourages individuals and teams to set their own fundraising goal...and any runner or team who raises $250 or more will receive free admission to CFL's Flip Flop Birthday Bash.

In addition to individual and team fundraising, The Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Lifeguards Association will donate $10.00 for every runner or team who raises $250 or more for the above stated mission of CFL.

Date of the run is August 8, 2009. You must first REGISTER for the run on the SICBP website www.sicbp.com.

Set up your fund raising page now by clicking here (the form will ask you for your fund type - choose personal). Questions? E-mail amber@crossingthefinishline.org.
